Cajun Grilled Sausage & Veggie Foil Packets, grilled corn, asparagus, red potatoes, and sausage in foil

Guess what, y’all…it’s officially summer!! I couldn’t be more excited because the weather in the South is extremely finicky! One minute it’s cool and rainy, and the next minute it’s almost 100 degrees! You can’t decide whether you need a sweater or a swimsuit! Lol!

During the summer, one of our favorite things to do is grill! We love to have cookouts and invite our close friends and family over. We usually handle the meat, and everyone else will bring the sides and drinks! I love these cookouts because it gives us a chance to catch up and spend some quality time together!

The usual menu for our cookouts typically includes barbecue ribs, hot dogs, and hamburgers. For our next cookout, I wanted to try something a little different, so I decided to make these convenient, hassle-free Cajun Grilled Sausage & Veggie Foil Packets! I love foil packet meals because they are so handy and require very little clean up! I’ve cooked foil packet meals in the oven, but never on the grill, so I was really eager to try this out!

When putting together my foil packet meals, I like to make sure that there’s a complete meal in each packet. I will usually include a serving of meat, and plenty of veggies. Since Hillshire FarmÒ is one of my favorite brands, I decided to use their new Hillshire Farm Fresh Original Bratwurst for these Cajun Grilled Sausage & Veggie Foil Packets. They are available at select Walmart locations.

I love shopping at Walmart because they have this very nifty app that allows you to check product availability at any location! I searched for the Hillshire Farm Fresh Links on the app and it showed the availability at my closest Walmart location. It even showed the exact aisle location! Unlike most of the Hillshire Farm products, these Farm Fresh links are located in the fresh meat section of the store.

I was so happy that my Walmart had these Hillshire Farm Fresh Links because they are absolutely delicious! They are 100% all natural and fresh, NEVER frozen, which is what makes them a trusted family-favorite brand! I purchased a few packages of the Hillshire Farm Fresh Original Bratwurst and picked up a few more items for my Cajun Grilled Sausage & Veggie Foil Packets!

When putting together these foil packets, you want to be sure that you use heavy-duty aluminum foil to ensure that the ingredients stay put. This tip is coming from experience! Lol! You definitely don’t want your foil packet meal to hit the ground once you pick it up!

I distributed the Hillshire Farm Fresh Original Bratwurst, asparagus, potatoes, and corn evenly into the center of each piece of aluminum foil. Before sealing the packets, I seasoned the veggies with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and salt/pepper. I carefully folded the corners and placed each foil packet on the grill. I let these packets cook for about 30-40 minutes, or until the veggies were soft.

When the foil packets are done, be sure to let them cool to the touch so that your guests won’t burn themselves when opening the packets. These Cajun Grilled Sausage & Veggie Foil Packets are possibly the easiest and most delicious grilled recipe that you will ever try!
