Valentine’s Day is just a few short days away! No matter what your plans are for the evening, the perfect makeup is a must-have!
Y’all!! I’m sooo excited about this post! After many months of being asked for easy makeup looks and tutorials, I’m proud to announce that I have posted my first makeup blog post!! And just in time for Valentine’s Day, yayyy!!!!
Okay, so most of you already know this about me, but for those of you that are new to Beautiful Eats & Things let me give you a little background info about my makeup history. My first love is makeup artistry. While working towards becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I also worked as a makeup artist for a few brands such as MAC, Prescriptives, & Lancome. Good times! ?
I still take on a few makeup jobs from time to time, but number one priority has definitely shifted to my family and I wouldn’t have it any other way! So, as a way to continue to share my love for makeup, I made it a goal to start sharing makeup blog posts! I want to show how you can achieve easy, fabulous looks with inexpensive products!
Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I thought that it would be a good idea to share my easy, sassy V-Day look achieved with products that you can purchase at your local drugstore! Let’s Get Started!
Easy Glamorous Valentine’s Day Makeup Ideas
Eyes
First thing’s first…let’s start with the eyes! The eyes are usually the first thing that someone notices about you, so it’s only right that we give this area a little extra special attention!
Before applying any eyeshadow, I always fill in my eyebrows first. There are so many fancy brow products on the market, but my favorite product are these Maybelline Expert Eyes Twin Brow Pencils. They are super cheap and fill in my brows perfectly!
Once my brows are done, I brush on a thin layer of concealer over my eyelid; making sure that I apply a neat layer directly underneath my brows. It helps to make them look neat and polished.
Now it’s time for the eyeshadow! I found this AMAZING Pro 18 Shimmer & Matte Pigmented Eyeshadow Palette, by UCANBE, on Amazon and I’ve been in love with it ever since! The colors are wonderfully pigmented and there are so many different colors to choose from. I used the colors Blank Canvas and Love on my lid, Boticelli and Flora in my crease, and Blank Canvas along my brow bone.
Once my eyeshadow was applied, I used my new Magnetic Eyeliner and Magnetic Eyelash Kit to finish off my eyes. I’ve been very eager to try this product since I’ve seen it on my Instagram Feed. I wanted to see if it really worked. Surprisingly, the lashes did adhere to the magnetic eyeliner without any glue BUT they didn’t feel that secure to me. They looked very nice, but I was able to take them off a little too easily.
Face
Now that the eyes are done, it’s time to apply the foundation. You can do this step before doing your eyes, but I typically start with the eyes and then move along to the foundation. Before applying my foundation, I like to prep my skin with my Kylie’s Skin Care Products. Check out my full honest review of this line HERE!
I am usually a MAC Foundation girl all the way, but lately I’ve been obsessing over this Graftobian Creme Foundation Warm Super Palette Kit! I normally keep this palette in my makeup kit to use on my clients, but I actually ordered one for myself!
I love that it goes on super smooth, and that it’s so long lasting! I also love that I can mix a couple of foundations together to get my perfect shade! When applying my foundation, I like to use a kabuki brush. It helps to give my foundation an airbrushed look.
I like to use a couple of the darker shades to contour my cheeks and my nose and then I set everything with a light setting powder.
I love blush! I truly believe that your face is not complete unless you have on blush! For this look, I used Maybelline New York Fit Me Blush, in the color Berry
Lips
I’m sure that you’ve figured this out by now, but just in case you didn’t know…my favorite color is pink! I love, love, LOVE any and everything pink, so of course I decided to complete this look with a vibrant pink lipstick.
I’m not very picky about any particular brand of lipstick but I am slightly obsessed with this Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint, in Raspberry! It was a little bit of a splurge, but totally worth it! It’s a long-wearing liquid lipstick that has some SERIOUS staying power!
Now that this makeup look is complete, it’s time to put on something sassy and get ready for a night of fun! If you would like to see more makeup blog posts, please let me know in the comments below! I would love to hear from you!
