Thank you, Dollar General, for sponsoring this post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are truly my own.
The 4th of July is a day that we like to share with friends and family. We enjoy grilling out and eating lots of yummy food! We usually throw a big 4th of July cookout party, but this year we are just celebrating with our family.
Anytime, that I plan a party I always like to gather my ideas for the decorations. Of course, there will be lots of red, white, and blue, but I wanted to make sure that all of the décor was tastefully done.
I headed to Dollar General to see what I could find because that has been my ‘go-to’ place for everything party related! One of my favorite things about shopping at Dollar General is that you can save big with the DG Digital Coupons and the new DG App!
I was happy to see that Dollar General had a great selection of 4th of July inspired décor.
Check out what I purchased:
- Red & White Gingham Table Cover – $2.00
- Paper Plates – $1.00
- Napkins – $1.00
- Mesh Baskets – $!.00/each
- Patriotic Tinsel Heart – $3.oo/each
- Glass Pitchers – $3.50/each
- American Flag Glasses – $1.00/each
- 4th of July Flower Leis – $1.00/each
- Headband – $1.00
- Red & Blue Drinking Jars – $2.00/each
- American Flag Citronella Candles -$3.00/each
On the day of the party, it’s a good idea to delegate some responsibilities to others to prevent you from becoming overwhelmed. I assigned the hubs to the beverages and table decor, while I took care of the food. Our menu was very simple, we decided to have marinated grilled chicken, green beans, and pasta salad.
My husband did a really great job with the drinks and made a festive trio of red, white, and blue punch! We picked up some Kool-Aid drink mix packets from Dollar General which made preparing the beverages a breeze!
To help keep the kids happy until the food was ready, we served popcorn as the “appetizer.” I found these cute little mesh baskets at Dollar General which seemed to be the perfect popcorn container! The boys had a blast eating popcorn and playing with the 4th of July accessories until the food was ready!
Even though our guest list was a lot smaller this year, we had a ton of fun! We laughed, played games, ate until our bellies were full! I hope that everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July!
