Did you know that this week is National Healthcare Food Service Week? Yep, October 1st-7th! I’m sure that a lot of you didn’t know that such a week exists, but it does!
National Healthcare Food Service Week is a time to celebrate the food service team in your healthcare facility. As the Director of the Food/Nutrition Department at my long-term care facility, I try to make sure that this week is celebrated and recognized by all departments. The foodservice team members play such an important role in the day-to-day operations and they are often overlooked and undervalued. I’m grateful that I work in a facility that acknowledges their hard-work and contributions!
To kick off the week, I decided to make these simple appreciation goody bags. I mean, who doesn’t like Tootsie Rolls!!
These bags were super easy to make and very cost effective! I purchased the clear treat bags and candy from Walmart. I made the individual signs on my computer and added them to the bags.
Since I seem to have an endless supply of burlap ribbon, I tied each bag with a piece of burlap ribbon for an extra special touch!
If you work in a healthcare facility, be sure to show your food service department some love this week!!
Did you make this?
