Am I the only one that looks forward to snack time?? Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always enjoyed diving into a yummy snack! Most of my snacks included chips, or mini pastries…or both lol, but as I grew up, I knew that I needed to make some changes! I’ve learned how to still enjoy snacking, but in a much healthier way! I’m going to share with you my Top 4 Plant-Based Snacks to Get You Through the Day!
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I am often asked about the best options for nutritious snacks that will provide a great source of energy. Most people always assume that I am going to say apples, carrot sticks, cheese, etc… but actually my recommendations are a bit more exciting and geared towards a more plant-based lifestyle!
Throughout my own healthful lifestyle journey, I am more cautious about what I eat. I still enjoy lean meat, but I made the decision to replace my dairy products with items such as Silk Unsweetened Almondmilk and Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative! Silk is a great source of Calcium and Vit D. It’s also an excellent source of plant-based protein! I love it so much that I decided to share with you my Top 4 Plant-Based Snacks to Get You Through the Day!
1.) Yogurt Granola Parfait
Parfaits are, by far, one of my favorite snacks because the possibilities are endless! I typically will use my favorite brand of granola, Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative, and strawberries! I love using Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative because it contains live and active cultures that help to promote a proper functioning digestive system! This snack contains a good amount of fiber from the granola and of course, a great amount of protein from the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative. The perfect combination to keep you going!
2.) Apple Slices with Yogurt Dip
I love to eat fruit for snack but sometimes that can be a little boring! The perfect way to liven up this snack is to add a dip such as the Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative! I like to add a little bit of Silk Unsweetened Almondmilk to my dip to make it extra creamy, and a dash of cinnamon! That simple touch adds more deliciousness and plant-based protein to keep you from falling asleep at your desk! Lol!
3.) Toast Topped with Yogurt & Fruit
If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know that I am a huge breakfast toast fan! I love breakfast toast so much that I will sometimes eat it for snack!
Breakfast or Snack Toasts are extremely easy to make! My favorite way to enjoy toast is with a generous serving of Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative, topped with fresh blueberries…YUM!
4.) Nuts & Dried Fruit Mixed with Yogurt
This combination has been my ‘go-to’ over the past week! I add pistachios and dried cranberries to a container of Silk Vanilla Almondmilk Yogurt Alternative and, viola! A delicious snack that contains wholesome ingredients to help keep you on your toes!
