My Country Blue & Red Buffalo Plaid Christmas Décor

The holidays are here and I’ve got some great decor inspiration for you! I’m showing you my country blue & red buffalo plaid Christmas decor!

How many of you have already fully decorated your house, wrapped all the gifts, and baked all the cookies?? I’ve done all except one, which is wrap all the gifts! We’re saving this task until the weekend before Christmas because my 2-year-old would open all of them! Lol!

To be honest, I’ve had my house fully decorated since the first week of November! I know that’s super early for some people, but I couldn’t help it! I was too excited to wait! And the kids get so excited when they see all of the decorations!

Each year, I always like to have a different theme. Last year, it was elves and Santa’s workshop which didn’t turn out too well! I was working full-time and getting the blog up and running,and just didn’t have time to decorate like I wanted. My house ended up looking like everything was rushed and half done because I only bought elf décor for one room! Tragic!

I promised myself that I would get an early start on things this year, so that’s exactly what I did! This year I decided to go with a red buffalo plaid theme! I got the inspiration from Pinterest and fell in love with the idea!

The pairing with the teal kinda happened by accident! My house is decorated with teal accents, including my dining room which is where the magic happened! I couldn’t find my red charger plates to pair with my buffalo plaid table runner, which I found HERE on Amazon, so I just kept my teal charger plates on the table. I got these charger plates from Kirkland’s awhile back.

When I looked at the colors together, I thought…hmmm, this actually looks pretty good! I grabbed a few more teal accessories, such as this teal candle lantern, and added it to my table. I was very happy with the results! I even added a fresh batch of my Irresistible Chewy Gingerbread Cookies on the table for the kids! To finish off my dining room décor, I just had to locate these vintage red pickup trucks that I had seen on Pinterest! I ended up buying the last 3 trucks they had on the shelf at Fred’s, but I found some great vintage red pickup trucks HERE on Amazon!

I consider my style to be farmhouse chic, so those red pickup trucks were the perfect touch! My hallway décor flowed naturally with my theme! I already had a teal accent table so I just added a few buffalo plaid accents, such as a buffalo plaid table runner and another red vintage pickup truck.

Our Christmas tree is very special to me! I didn’t add any teal accents to our tree but there are plenty of red buffalo plaid and sentimental ornaments on it! I have ornaments on my tree that were given to me by close friends and family from many years ago! No matter the theme, I will always include these special ornaments on the tree. I also bought the cutest buffalo plaid doggie bed to put next to the tree! If you look closely, you will see a cute little black maltipoo snuggled in her bed!

My oldest son is four and he also loves our Christmas tree! He wanted to pick out a special ornament for the tree and he chose this Santa Claus ornament! I let him choose the best spot for it! It warms my heart to know that he enjoys Christmas just like I did when I was a little girl! He wants to wear a Christmas shirt to school everyday and Christmas pajamas to bed every night! So cute!
