Thank you, Dollar General, for sponsoring this post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are truly my own.
Since the kids and I are spending more time at home, I’ve been trying to think of creative ways to keep them entertained. Every summer, my kids look forward to making homemade lemonade. Even though we can make it any time of the year, they specifically like to make it in the summer!
Since they love homemade lemonade, I decided to have a DIY Summer Lemonade Party! They were absolutely thrilled about this idea because they love parties just as much as I do!
The first thing we did was head to Dollar General to gather our supplies. I love shopping at Dollar General because they have everything that I need for throwing a great party. Their prices are always very reasonable and you can save even more with DG Digital Coupons and the new DG App!
As we were browsing through the aisles, I saw a section they screamed, “Lemonade Party!” They had so many decorative elements that included lemons and pineapples, which gave us the idea to make a Pineapple Lemonade too!
Here are the items that I purchased:
- Lemon & Pineapple Glass Soda Bottles – $2.00/each
- Bottle Carrier – $5.00
- Yellow Cutting Board – $4.00
- Yellow Spoons – $2.50
- Napkins – $2.00
- Bamboo Trivets -$2.00
- Lemon Baskets – $5.00/each
- Decorative Signs – $3.00
- Sunflowers – $3.00/each
- Glass Pitchers – $3.50/each
- Reusable Ice Cubes – $1.00
- Lemon Chalkboard – $4.00
To keep with tradition, I let the kids help make the lemonade. I used a lemonade powder mix that I purchased from Dollar General to make this process super easy! For the basic lemonade recipe, we followed the directions on the back of the lemonade package.
For the Pineapple Lemonade, we simply followed the directions for the basic lemonade recipe and added in canned pineapples and pineapple juice. Yum!
I placed the lemonade in the fridge, while I decorated the party venue…which happened to be our patio lol! I put together a simple menu, which included lemonade, fruit, and crackers. I used the Bamboo Trivets to made mini charcuterie boards and placed everything on the table.
All of the decorations were absolutely prefect and really turned our boring patio into a super fun party oasis! The kids loved it and thought that this was the best idea ever! I can’t wait to recreate this summer party for my gal pals!
Did you make this?
