Thank you, Dollar General, for sponsoring this post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are truly my own.
Now that Fall is finally here, it’s time to get ready for one of my favorite holidays…Halloween!! My family and I love Halloween because it’s filled with so much magic and spooky surprises! Each year, I try to think of creative ways to celebrate this fun holiday. This year, I decided to put together a Fun Halloween Movie & Game Night with Dollar General items!
Putting together a DIY Halloween Movie & Game Night doesn’t have to take a ton of effort. Just head over to your local Dollar General to pick up everything that you need for a “spooky” night of fun! They have décor, costumes, candy, snacks, movie and even projectors.
Dollar General is my favorite place to shop for all of my holiday décor no matter the season! They had so much cute stuff to choose from, so I ended up filling up my buggy with a ton of Halloween Décor! I also picked up a couple of DVDs, a board game, and some movie snacks! SETTING UP YOUR HALLOWEEN MOVIE & GAME NIGHT
Putting together décor for this Halloween Movie & Game Night was super easy! I started by covering my countertop with an orange tablecloth and black decorative ribbon. I placed 2 decorative pumpkins and skeletons on each end of the counter and placed a bowl of the candy and popcorn in front of each skeleton for easy grabbing.
Next, I placed a few small pumpkins and plastic chain links on the countertop to give it a little spooky flair and placed the cups and plates next to the food. For the finishing touch, I placed the board game and DVDs in the center to really surprise my kids!
We chose to go with a kid-friendly DVD for the kids and a comedy movie for me and the hubs. Even though it was a Halloween Movie Night, I decided to choose funny movies to keep the mood light & fun. And I didn’t want my kids to have any nightmares! ?
HALLOWEEN MOVIE & GAME NIGHT PARTY FOOD
The food for our Halloween Movie & Game Night was super low key! We had popcorn, candy, & soda. My kids were thrilled over this simple menu and I was thrilled that it required zero-cooking!
For an extra spooky effect, I put a spider in the popcorn! Lol! If you want a few more recipe and craft ideas, be sure to check out DG Crafts and DG Easy Meals!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST….COSTUMES!
You can’t have a Halloween Movie & Game Night without Halloween Costumes! This year, we decided to dress up like vampires and Dollar General had everything that I needed to put together the perfect look!
I purchased vampire teeth, face paint kits, and this spooky veil. I think it turned out pretty good!
