Here in the South, we love a good tea party! There’s nothing like spending time with the girls, sipping on tea, and enjoying a variety of delicious food! Since my friends and I haven’t seen each other in over a year, I thought that it would be a fun idea to throw a small tea party that features this adorable Afternoon Tea Charcuterie Cheese Board!
In my opinion, charcuterie boards are the perfect addition to any gathering! It can serve as a centerpiece and conversation starter at the same time! It’s also a great way to allow your guests to serve themselves so that you won’t have to spend all day in the kitchen!
AFTERNOON TEA CHARCUTETIE CHEESE BOARD
Building a charcuterie board is extremely easy. All you need are just a few simple ingredients. To make sure that I had everything that I needed, I headed over to Publix to stock up on a few things.
Having a variety of cheeses is very important when making a cheese board, which is why I purchased a package of the Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery Cheddar Cheese Curds, Roth Organics Organic Cheese, and Sartori Cheese. These cheese products are located in the Publix Deli department, and from x/x to x/x, you can save $x on your favorite Wisconsin Cheese products. Be sure to check out the Extra Savings page on Publix for more details.
I also picked up a variety of sweet treats, and a box of Nabisco Triscuit Crackers, which is located in the cracker aisle at Publix.
There are several ways to put together a Tea Party Charcuterie Board, but I chose to go with an afternoon tea theme. So, what’s typically served at an afternoon tea?
WHAT IS SERVED AT AFTERNOON TEA?
Afternoon tea generally includes a variety of light foods such as:
- Cookies
- Scones
- Small sandwiches
- Jams and spreads
- Cream
- Cakes
- Tarts
HOW TO MAKE AN AFTERNOON TEA CHARCUTERIE CHEESE BOARD?
When putting together this Afternoon Tea Charcuterie Cheese Board, I started by making the tarts and cucumber sandwiches first. Here in the South, cucumber sandwiches are a MUST at any tea party! They are super easy to make and super yummy!
To give these cucumber sandwiches a little bit more flavor, I decided to add a slice of the Roth Organics Cheese to each sandwich. The texture is so creamy and delicious, which added the perfect touch to these cute little sandwiches!
For the tarts, I decided to do a combination of sweet and savory tarts. They may look fancy, but they were a breeze to make! For the sweet tarts, start with a cup of plain Greek yogurt, and mix in about 1 tablespoon of honey. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of the Greek yogurt mixture into the shells and top with your favorite fruit.
For the savory tarts, start with a cup of plain Greek yogurt, and mix in about ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, thyme, and salt/pepper. Scoop about 1 teaspoon of the Greek yogurt mixture into the shells and top with your favorite veggies.
Now it’s time to arrange the items on your board. Start in the middle with your main items. For this board, I chose to put a cup of loose tea and a wedge of the Sartori Cheese in the middle. This cheese pairs well with just about anything! It starts out with light sweet caramel and savory notes of Parmesan and finishes with a sweet fruitiness! Yum!
Next, fill in the corner spaces with eye-catching foods such as fresh fruit, scones, and cookies. To add a little element of cuteness, I placed the tarts onto a vintage tea plate and placed that in the corner of the board. I also added the cucumber sandwiches, a serving of Nabisco Triscuit Crackers, and a hefty serving of the Ellsworth Natural Cheese Curds onto the board.
My favorite thing about these cheese curds is that they are natural, gluten free, contain no added sugars and are manufactured from rBST free milk. For the finishing touch, fill in any small nooks and crannies with fresh herbs or more fruit.
This Afternoon Tea Charcuterie Cheese Board is definitely one of my favorite charcuterie boards that I’ve ever made! I loved the finished look and I’m pretty sure that my gal pals will love it too!
