I will admit it…I’m definitely a “snacker!” I think that it all started when I was in preschool ?. I absolutely loved snack time! I remember my preschool teacher coming to each table with a gallon of juice and a plate of cookies! And of course, I would always ask for seconds lol! I’m a little bit older now and my taste buds have matured. Don’t get me wrong, I still love juice and cookies, but I’ve learned to snack more responsibly and choose items that are beneficial to my overall well-being.

As a Registered Dietitian, I love to choose snacks that contain protein and fiber to help fuel my body throughout the day. And I also look for convenience because I’m ALWAYS on-the-go! Today, I’m going to share some of my favorite foods for healthy snacking, on-the-go!

  1. Jack Link’s Bars

Whenever I look for a new snack to try, it must meet 2 requirements…it must be delicious, and it must contain protein. They’re also gluten-free! The new Jack Link’s Bars totally fits that description! I purchased the Jack Link’s Original Bars and Jack Link’s Teriyaki Bars at my local Walmart and I’m so glad that I did!

  • Apples

Fruit is always a great choice for snacking on-the-go. Although most fruit may not contain the same amount of protein as Jack Link’s Bars, it still contains some essential nutrients. One of my favorite fruits are apples! I love apples because they are sweet, and they are a great source of fiber. They are also convenient to grab as you’re heading out for a busy day.

  • Yogurt

I like to keep yogurt on hand because it’s very versatile. You can buy the little individual cups of yogurt to eat on-the-go, and you can also add different toppings to it. Yogurt is also a great source of protein and it’s a great option if you’re wanting something light and sweet!

  • Nuts

Nuts are great to keep on hand because you can choose to eat them au natural or add them to another dish for a little extra crunch. Nuts are a great source of protein and they are great for on-the-go. I like to buy my nuts in bulk and separate them into small plastic bags for added convenience.

Out of all the snacks listed above, I would have to say that the Jack Link’s Bars are my favorite! They are extremely satisfying, especially when I’m craving something that’s savory and tasty! I also love that they come in these convenient packs that allow me to grab and go!
