Looking for plus size fall outfit ideas? These cute cardigan outfits are perfect for sweater weather, with casual, dressy and everyday looks you can wear all season.

It’s officially sweater weather, y’all! And lately, I have been completely obsessed with cardigans. One of the things I love most about a cardigan is just how versatile it can be. You can throw one over a T-shirt and jeans for an easy casual fall outfit, button it up and pair it with a skirt or trousers for something a little more polished, or layer it over a dress when you want a look that feels feminine and effortless.
And because I’m always looking for more ways to make fashion feel fun, expressive, and inclusive, I’ve been especially excited to style a few of the cardigans that I designed for The Beautiful Eats & Things Boutique. If you’re searching for plus size fall outfit ideas, cute cardigan outfits, or just a little inspiration for getting dressed during sweater weather, I’m sharing a few of my favorite looks below!
Look #1: Cow Print Cardigan — Cozy Neutrals with a Fashion-Forward Twist

There is something about chocolate brown and cream together that feels so good for fall, and this cow print cardigan might be one of the easiest pieces in the collection to build an outfit around!
I styled it open over a fitted chocolate brown turtleneck and paired it with matching brown faux leather pants. The tan clutch adds another warm neutral without making everything feel too matched, and of course, gold jewelry and oversized sunglasses pull the whole outfit together!
Look #2: Zebra Print Cardigan — Casual to Polished

A bold animal-print cardigan is one of the easiest ways to make a fall outfit feel more interesting, and I love how versatile this zebra print cardigan can be.

For the first styling, I left the cardigan open over an olive graphic tee and paired it with black faux leather pants. The warm olive tone works so well with the camel trim on the cardigan, while the black pants, oversized sunglasses, gold jewelry and burgundy clutch give the outfit a little edge. It’s the kind of casual plus size fall outfit that would work for brunch, shopping, dinner or a fun weekend out.
For a more polished look, I buttoned the cardigan and paired it with rust-colored faux leather pants. Wearing the cardigan closed allows it to work almost like a statement sweater, and I love how the warm rust color complements the camel trim. A black clutch and gold accessories finish the look without competing with the bold print.
Look #3: Burgundy Snakeskin Print Cardigan — An Easy Elevated Fall Outfit

For this look, I let the cardigan do most of the talking. This is a great example of how I like to style a statement cardigan for fall. When the sweater has a bold pattern, you don’t necessarily need to add a lot of other competing pieces. A great pair of jeans, a cute bag and a few accessories can be enough to make the entire outfit feel intentional!
Look #4: Mustard Cow Print Cardigan — Dress It Up or Keep It Casual

This mustard and chocolate brown cow print cardigan is such a fun way to bring traditional fall colors into your wardrobe without feeling basic. For one look, I paired it with burgundy faux leather pants, oversized sunglasses, layered gold necklaces and a metallic gold clutch.

For the second outfit, I styled the same cardigan open over a burgundy faux leather corset-style top with light-wash jeans. This version feels younger, edgier and perfect for a night out, while still keeping the cardigan as the statement piece. I especially love this combination because it proves that plus size cardigan outfits don’t have to feel conservative or overly casual.
Look #5: Brown Snakeskin Print Cardigan — Edgy or Monochromatic

For the first outfit, I styled it open over a black graphic tee with black faux leather pants, oversized black sunglasses, and a black clutch.

For the second look, I leaned completely into the brown color palette with a chocolate faux leather corset-style top and matching brown faux leather pants. The cardigan adds texture and pattern while the monochromatic pieces underneath make the outfit feel sleek and intentional. Gold jewelry and a metallic clutch bring in just enough contrast.
This might be one of my favorite examples of how to wear a cardigan in a way that feels anything but basic. You can use the same piece to create an easy black-and-brown outfit or build an elevated monochromatic plus size fall look around it.
