Thank you, Hyatt Place, for sponsoring this post! As always, all thoughts and opinions are truly my own.
Each year, my husband and I try to take at least one family vacation a year, which isn’t always easy with two toddlers! Earlier this year, we took the kids to the beach…which was a very interesting trip! There weren’t any kid-friendly activities close by and our room was very small which made it a little hard for the kids to really enjoy themselves. We came back from that vacation completely exhausted and dreading any future family vacations!
Despite that stressful experience, we decided to give it another go, and headed to Knoxville, TN! I absolutely love traveling to Tennessee but we had never been to Knoxville before, so we were really excited! The kids were especially excited because they love staying in hotels, which is why it’s very important to choose the right one such as Hyatt Place! This is the first and most important tip for a stress-free family vacation!
1). Choose the perfect hotel.
Choosing a hotel that meets your family’s needs is very important. If you have little ones, you want to be sure that the rooms are spacious and that there are kid-friendly attractions nearby. Hyatt Place has always been my top choice whenever I travel, but Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown truly exceeded my expectations! The area was perfect! It was conveniently located downtown next to several restaurants, candy shops, and movie theaters!
As a member of the World of Hyatt loyalty program, visiting a Hyatt Place comes with great perks for the whole family, including free breakfast, early check in and late check out, and spacious guest rooms! We also received access to entrees and snacks around the clock. And the Necessities program provided must-have items for purchasing, borrowing or for free!
The inside of the hotel was GORGEOUS! I consider myself to be a self-proclaimed interior decorator lol, so I was blown away by the chic and modern décor! There were so many sitting areas for relaxation and of course areas for conducting business! The Hosts were super friendly and welcomed us right away!
My husband’s favorite area was the bar and my kids’ favorite part was the room! Our room was super spacious! There were 2 queen beds, a sofa bed located in a cozy corner, a swiveling 42” HDTV, refrigerator, and free Wi-Fi! My kids immediately jumped into the bed and asked if they could put on their pajamas and get comfy!
2). Choose restaurants that offer a variety of kid-friendly options.
Being that we are a family of foodies, the cuisine is another important factor to consider when planning your family vacation. When traveling with the kiddos, I like to make sure that we have access to restaurants that have kid-friendly options.
Lucky for us, we didn’t have to travel very far for good food! Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown had a very tasty 24/7 Market that had several options to choose from, so we decided to get a little bit of everything!
Our food was delivered within a short amount of time and it was delicious! Our favorite item was the pizza! After dinner, the gallery hosts surprised us with a platter of desserts! This was definitely the highlight of our evening!
Since we were members of the World of Hyatt Program, we had access to the most delicious breakfast bar ever! There were plenty of sweet and savory options such as cage-free eggs, steel-cut oatmeal, whole fruit, all-natural bacon and sausage, Greek yogurt, and lots more!
My husband definitely enjoyed his breakfast. He acted like a kid in the candy store whenever we went into the breakfast area! Lol!
3). Create an itinerary that includes fun activities.
Having a fun itinerary planned helps to keep the trip running smoothly. During our first family vacation this year, we decided to “play it by ear,” which wasn’t a very good idea. This may be okay if you have older kids, but toddlers tend to get bored very easily…which can lead to tantrums, so it’s important to have several activities planned!
The next day, we decided to venture out and explore the town. The Hosts provided us with a list of family-friendly things to do so we had plenty of activities to keep the kids busy!
As we were packing up and getting ready to go, my husband and I agreed that this was the best family vacation ever! Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown really made traveling easy, stress-free, and a ton of fun! I have a feeling that we will be back very soon!
