Warm and sunny weather means that it’s time for refreshing cocktails, such as this Spicy Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita! It’s the perfect treat for happy hour!
Looking for a “bussin” (that’s Gen Z slang for delicious, per TikTok) margarita recipe for Cinco de Mayo, then you’ve GOT to try this Fresh Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita! It’s the perfect combination of sweet and spicy flavors!
As I’ve gotten older, my love for spicy food has blossomed. I’ve been guilty of adding extra jalapeños to my nachos, pizza, and even my cocktails! I’ve had some pretty good spicy margaritas, but this Spicy Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita is definitely number one on my list!
I was inspired to make this cocktail after a family outing to the Strawberry Farm. Let me just say—if you’ve never picked strawberries at a strawberry farm, then you MUST add this to your bucket list! It was so much fun! My kids and I picked 4 buckets of fresh, delicious strawberries! And I managed to snag a few to test out a few new recipes.

How to Make Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas
The recipe was a cinch to make and only required a few simple ingredients. I love to use fresh fruit when making my cocktails because it helps to bring out the flavor and it provides just the right amount of sweetness.
Margarita Supplies:
- Fresh strawberries –I recommend chopping them before muddling them. The smaller size helps to get the most juice out of the strawberries
- Limes
- Jalapenos
- Tequila
- Agave—you can choose to use any kind of sweetener, but I highly recommend using agave because it pairs so well with the other ingredients
- Muddler
- Shaker
- Strainer
Start by adding the chopped strawberries to your shaker, followed by the agave, lime juice, tequila and jalapeños. Be sure to remove the seeds first—unless you want an extremely spicy margarita! Muddle the fruit, and add a few ice cubes and shake.
If you enjoy a sweet AND salty rim around the glass, I like to combine about a tablespoon of salt and sugar for the rim. And for a little extra flair, add some lime zest to the sugar and salt mixture!

Run a lime wedge around the rim and then dip into the sugar and salt mixture. Add a few ice cubes to the glass. Using a strainer, pour the cocktail into the glass. Add fresh strawberries and jalapenos for garnish, if desired.
Now it’s time to sip on your Spicy Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita, relax, and enjoy the Cinco de Mayo festivities! Cheers!!
