There’s something about a beautiful homemade quiche sitting on the kitchen counter that instantly makes me feel like the Southern Belle I truly am! Maybe it’s the buttery crust, the creamy savory filling, or the way a warm slice pairs perfectly with sweet tea and conversations, filled with a little gossip, around the table! Either way, I’ve convinced myself that every proper Southern home should always have a random quiche ready and available whenever guests stop by!

Even though quiche is traditionally associated with French cuisine, it somehow feels right at home in Southern entertaining culture. Quiche is elegant yet comforting, simple yet impressive, and perfect for everything from brunch gatherings to baby showers, church luncheons, holiday mornings, or slow weekends at home.

This Salmon and Spinach Quiche is one of my favorite elevated twists on a classic quiche recipe because it combines rich, flaky salmon with tender spinach, garlic, onions, creamy eggs, and plenty of savory cheese baked inside a buttery crust. It feels luxurious without being complicated.

And for this recipe, I used fresh sockeye salmon, which adds incredible flavor, beautiful color, and powerful nutrition benefits.

What Makes Sockeye Salmon Different?

For this recipe, I used fresh sockeye salmon, and it truly makes a difference. Sockeye salmon is known for its:

  • Deep red-orange color
  • Rich flavor
  • Firmer texture
  • Higher omega-3 fatty acid content
  • Naturally lean profile

Compared to Atlantic salmon, sockeye salmon tends to have a more robust, less buttery flavor and a slightly firmer texture that holds up beautifully inside baked dishes like quiche.

Sockeye salmon is also typically wild-caught, which many people prefer because it’s often lower in saturated fat and contains higher levels of certain nutrients.

Nutritional Benefits of Salmon

Salmon is considered one of the healthiest protein sources you can add to your diet. It contains heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which may help support:

  • Heart health
  • Brain function
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Eye health

Bake for 35–40 minutes or until the top is golden brown, and the center is just set. Allow the quiche to cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
