For some reason, I always seem to keep a surplus of black beans on hand. I’m not exactly sure why…maybe it’s because I like to add black beans to almost all of my soup recipes or maybe it’s because it’s the perfect side dish for taco night??
One of the reasons why I like to keep black beans on hand is because I love to make brownies with them. I know what you’re thinking…. black bean brownies? How can that possibly be good?? I’m hear to tell you that it’s the best thing ever!

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT BLACK BEANS
- Black beans are an excellent source of fiber (both soluble and insoluble). Studies show that a fiber-rich diet can help maintain weight goals and reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.
- Black beans have very little fat, and most of the fat is polyunsaturated. A ½ cup serving of black beans has 90 milligrams of omega-3 fatty acids and 108 milligrams of omega-6 fatty acids.
- Black beans are protein powerhouses, with 7 grams of protein in a ½ cup serving.
- Black beans are a very good source of folate. Folate is responsible for producing red blood cells and plays a role in preventing neural tube defects during pregnancy.

HOW TO MAKE BLACK BEAN BROWNIES
These gluten-free black bean brownies are super easy to make! No flour required! All you need is a blender and an oven. Simply add all of the ingredients to the blender, except for the chocolate chips, and blend until smooth. Don’t be alarmed if there are a few bits of oats in the batter. They will soften while baking. Add a few chocolate chips to the batter and spread the batter into a 9×9 inch pan. To make them super chocolaty, I like to add a few more chocolate chips on top!
The secret ingredient to these amazing brownies is the molasses syrup. Molasses are a thick, dark brown syrup obtained from raw sugar during the refining process, a version of which is often used in baking. It helps to give these brownies a super-rich, fudgy texture.
These Super Fudgy Flour-less Black Bean Brownies are a great way to enjoy your favorite treat but in a much healthier way! If you try these delectable brownies, be sure to rate the recipe here, and tag @beautifuleatsandthings on Instagram so I can see and like your pictures!
